I am running FNV through SteamPlay's version of Proton 5.0.9, and plan on running Vortex through Lutris with the lutris wine version Lutris-5.2-x86-64. if anyone can give me any details on the problem or any possible solutions, that would be greatly appreciated. i have genuinely no clue what is going on, and vey rarely ask the forums for help unless i genuinely have no clue wtf is going on. I have deleted and reinstalled the game, i have purged the game's registry, i have deleted everything in the steam folder except the steamapps, skins, and steam folder, and let steam self repair. After sitting down and putting a few hours into the problem, i a stumped. even with no mods, i get the error: " Application load error 5:0000065434 " originally i saw this as not a big deal, as i was content with running the game through steam for the time being. The problem arised from running the game from the exe in it's steamapps folder. I have vortex running through lutris from this Chris Titus video. on my linux laptop i have new vegas running vanilla through steam with proton 5.0.9 brilliantly.
I've played new Vegas Modded to the teeth with game/visual improvement mods like the weapon retexture project, and a few different shaders on my windows machine.
